Hyperthermia: The immune system’s ally in the battle against cancer. “Our immune system knows how to fight such diseases as cancer. Inside our lymph nodes, T-cells are activated against cancer cells. This happens with the help of surface receptors. But to prevent overreactions of T-cells, these immune cells also express programmed cell death protein 1, PD-1.”
